Came Back to This Place

Having been away from CW world for over 4 years, I managed to have my Ham Radio License reissued on 19th February 2016.

Installed a simple 2 band vertical antenna at my front yard and started QRV with 5 watts.

My old FT817 and Elecraft K1 sounded nice CW tones and I have worked with my friend stations in JA and also a USA station near San Francisco on the first day. My weak signal reached to ZL1BYZ and 9N1ZAK, too.

I am going to update this blog again from time to time and want to be active on the air.

Good to see you are back and active, Leo – but, of course, your return is coinciding with a very deep drop in the solar conditions! 10m and even 15m are starting to sound like VHF bands, but 30 and 40 meters are always fun.

    Hi John,

I have never experienced peaks of SSN in my life.
So I do not care so much about the solar conditions.
It’s good enough for me to QRV on the bands.
I can still hear some DX STNs on 21 and 18Mhz and try to call them with 5W almost everyday..
I could contact with FK8CE on 15m a couple of minutes ago and the RST was 579 / 559.
    it was really impressive.
